Business Process Mapping & Improvement.

Risk Gateway also offers design and development of process maps as one of its services. A process map is considered to be a visual aid for picturing work processes which show how inputs, outputs and tasks are linked together.

Process maps, as well as prompting new conceptual thought, are also one of the most effective ways of acquiring an understanding of existing processes by representing them in the form of a visual map. Our approach is to initially determine the boundaries then describe all the steps.

The next logical step is to use appropriate symbols to draw the process in the form of a system model and validate it with the client. We use a whole range of computer based techniques to store this information from MS Visio to Casewise if required. Further work is usually required to optimise the process map thereby providing a cost effective representation of the process. Additionally process maps are useful in identifying which processes are organizational 'show stoppers' or mission critical, a vital area of discovery within BCM.

In terms of a complete framework, we will also work with our clients to develop an all encompassing representation of organisational activities by initially specifying the major goal of the company, developing processes which are composed of Procedures. Associated with the procedures are templates such as documents or tools, help, checklists and standards.
